Numerical and experimental investigation of the thermal and electrical characteristics of a lithium ion cell

چکیده

In this study, an electrochemical-thermal coupled model was developed to investigate the electrical and thermal behaviors of commercial NCR18650b Li-ion cell during three different discharge rates. The 1-dimensional electrochemical consists a positive electrode, electrolyte, negative electrode employs related mass charge transfer equations for both solid liquid phases predicting cell's voltage variation. 3-dimensional involves mandrel, active battery part, shell. solves general heat diffusion equation predicts temperature variation cell. results show that predicted temperature-voltage profiles follow same trend with experimental data are consistent. maximum calculated root mean square errors obtained as 0.11 V voltage, 0.96 °C predictions.
